OF Bell manages product prototyping, tooling and coil winding processes for the scalable manufacture of MFL probes in-house, using fast 3D printing and CAD technologies which enable our team to react quickly to design changes and challenges during the early stages of production.
CNC machined using our sophisticated FANUC Robodrill, tooling is developed to an exceptional degree of accuracy, enabling MFL probes to progress to large-scale manufacture without delays or consistency issues. Robust and highly sensitive micro wound coils are created by our electronics team to withstand incredibly demanding subsea and pipeline asset environments.
OF Bell’s experienced, dedicated electronics team expertly assembles MFL probe components, including miniature wound coils, at our UK facility, ensuring consistency in every unit. Neat, compact and hardwearing cable harness assemblies protect electronics in the harshest of application conditions so that every MFL probe performs to its best.
MFL probe units are vacuum potted to form a tight, protective seal, fulling insulating and guarding sensitive electronics against water ingress and other harm. With decades of experience in vacuum potting resins, plastic compounds and metal replacement techniques, and through close collaboration with our clients, our team recommends tough, cost-effective materials for efficient manufacture.
As with every electronic component produced by our team, MFL probes which are Made in Britain by OF Bell to ISO-certified standards are fully-tested prior to dispatch using testing scenarios developed in partnership with our clients to replicate conditions in the field.
